I build data systems and research programs — from automated GHG pipelines serving 9,000+ farms to coordinating a multi-institutional NSERC Alliance program across UBC, federal agencies, and farmer networks. Psychology undergrad turned data scientist turned research manager: I'm most useful at the intersections.
Equally at home writing Python pipelines, running stakeholder meetings, and mentoring the next generation of data scientists.
My background cuts across psychology, data science, and environmental research — which means I end up being most useful at the crossovers. I've built automated API pipelines pulling from GBIF, SoilGrids, and ERA5-Land; developed Shiny dashboards deployed to thousands of farmers; contributed to a published FAO agroecology report; co-developed a Python package on PyPI; judged student data science hackathons; and helped coordinate a 10+ partner NSERC Alliance research program on Canadian farm GHG accounting. I care about making environmental data legible — to farmers, to policymakers, and to the researchers who need it to move fast.
Day-to-day this means: standardizing LiteFarm's 1.2M+ farm records to the Common Farm Convention standard for interoperability with Holos and Cool Farm Tool; onboarding and supervising WorkLearn and USRA students; coordinating across AAFC, OrganicBC, Farmers for Climate Solutions, and international agri-tech partners; and building the bilingual Shiny dashboard that will serve 700+ Canadian farms.
Research contributed to a published report in the FAO Agroecology Knowledge Hub on participatory, community-driven indicators and data sovereignty — real-world impact from LiteFarm-backed field work.
Key contributor to a 5-year, $1.4M NSERC Alliance program to build open, interoperable GHG tools for Canadian farmers — connecting 9,000+ farms of LiteFarm data to federal and international emissions models.
Designed automated API pipelines across GBIF, SoilGrids, ERA5-Land, and eBird; deployed Shiny-for-Python apps via Nginx + Uvicorn; cut report generation time by 60% through Python automation.
Managing a 5-year NSERC Alliance research program on agricultural GHG accounting — convening cross-disciplinary meetings, tracking milestones across 10+ partners (AAFC, OurSci, OrganicBC, Farmers for Climate Solutions, OpenTEAM, and more), and coordinating quarterly deliverable reports. Also supervising WorkLearn and USRA trainees, driving data science onboarding, and supporting LiteFarm's technical integration with Holos and Cool Farm Tool.
Leading data science initiatives across sustainable agriculture, climate modeling, biodiversity metrics, and geospatial analytics. Mentoring student researchers and standardizing data for interoperability with GHG calculators.
Built automated API pipelines, performed species richness modeling, and improved SQL performance for reporting dashboards.
Developed Shiny dashboards for farmers and researchers, and supported privacy-layered analytics deployments.
Supporting interdisciplinary research in ecology, climate adaptation, and conservation finance using automated datasets and reproducible analytical pipelines.
Designed loan collection models, analyzed MongoDB data, and maintained PowerBI dashboards for strategic decision-making.
Led school-wide initiatives and delivered SHISMUN 2019 with 700+ delegates and a 30% increase in event funding.
Published in the FAO Agroecology Knowledge Hub, highlighting participatory, community-driven indicators and data sovereignty through LiteFarm-backed research.
Served as a supervisor/advisor for the research brief on nitrogen use efficiency and farm profitability.
UBC SEEDS single-use cup study (N=253) with loss framing analysis and recommendations for behavior-change messaging.
Co-developed a Python package for Airbnb listing analysis, including preprocessing, visualization, and machine learning workflows.
Building an interactive dashboard to support multifunctional intercropping through ecophysiology and trait-based modeling.
